In 1993, Marjorie Maher opened the first-ever Montessori preschool and kindergarten in Mukilteo in a little house on Beverly Park Road. I had the honor of becoming the second owner of Mukilteo Montessori School in 2005. During my tenure as owner and director, we became the only Montessori school in Mukilteo to be accredited both nationally and internationally by the American Montessori Society. My staff and I have nurtured and loved every child and family that have walked through our doors. It is now time to say goodbye and thank you for being a part of our journey – we will cherish the wonderful memories that were made! On June 10, 2021, after serving the community for 28 years, Mukilteo Montessori School will be closing its doors.

Laurie Hurlock
Mukilteo Montessori School has been serving the community since 1993. We are the only Nationally Accredited Montessori preschool/kindergarten independently operating in the Mukilteo, Edmonds, Lynnwood, and South Everett area.
Laurie Hurlock, director and owner, and her staff strive to educate the whole child by teaching children to think creatively. By nurturing students emotionally and socially they become independent , self-disciplined learners with confidence and pride in their new accomplishments and capabilities.
Mukilteo Montessori School (MMS) strives to create a loving, prepared environment that promotes academic success, self-discipline, and a passion for social grace within each child according to the Montessori philosophy.
MMS is devoted to nurturing the needs of every child. We are guided by the principle of respect: respect for one’s self leads to independence; respect for others forms a sense of purpose and social grace; respect for the environment—and the world—enhances a child's sense of wonder, curiosity, and peacefulness.
Choosing a preschool is the first critical educational decision a parent makes. Your child’s preschool experience forms the foundation of his/her future learning. We invite you to visit us at our school; you will love what you see!
